Further speculation on the Impact and MLS...

A few rumours have been popping up on the other Canadian soccer forums regarding the Impact's upcoming trip to Italy and Portugal. That and Saputo's decision to open training camp up much earlier than usual for 2008 is leaving many people to suggest we're seeing a possible test on the part of the Impact's owners and management to make the transisition to the top-flight league in North America.

Personally, I think it's still a little too early to make any sort of assumption, though no doubt Saputo will be looking at Seattle as things develop there with regards to their permanent "promotion" to MLS.
