Rochester Raging Rhinos General Manager Chris Economides announced today that Willie Fitzpatrick and Billy Andracki have been named assistant coaches for the 2005 season.

Fitzpatrick, a native of Webster, NY, was an assistant coach with the Syracuse Salty Dogs the past two years. Fitzpatrick will hold a similar role with the Rhinos this season.

“Willie is an extremely loyal and knowledgeable person and having someone with his expertise will be a key for the organization,” Rhinos Head Coach Laurie Calloway said. “He knows many of the players on a personal level. His involvement in the Rochester community is also invaluable.”

Fitzpatrick is currently the Technical Director for the Rochester Jr. Rhinos and has been involved with the club since their inception. Since 1985, he has also been involved in the Olympic Development Program in the Rochester area. He is currently the head coach for Finger Lakes Community College, a role he has held since 1995. Fitzpatrick is accredited by the USSF National Coaching Association, holds National and Advanced National Coaching Certificates from NSCAA, and conducts coaches’ licensing courses. The Dublin, Ireland, product also put together an extensive playing career, which include time spent with the Shamrock Rovers.

Andracki, the 36-year-old native of Rochester, NY, is no stranger to the Rhinos organization. He appeared in 105 games in goal for the Rhinos from 1996 to 2003. Andracki holds most of the franchise’s goaltending records, including all-time saves (446), games played (105), minutes played (9,533) and wins (55). Andracki is also among the team’s top ten in games played (ninth) and games started (seventh).

“I am ecstatic with Billy’s new role with the organization as our goaltending coach,” Economides said. “Billy will be a great asset to our goaltenders, both personally and on the field.”
